Industrial Explosions

Modeling & Analysis

ACE provides a wide range of analysis services to address industrial explosions at petrochemical facilities, offshore gas and oil rigs, and manufacturing plants.  Our staff can formulate probable release scenarios and determine the resulting explosion source.  We can determine the blast loading on structures and equipment and assess the structural damage.

We offer licensing for a simulation package titles the Computational Explosion & Blast Assessment Model (CEBAM).  Using a tailored graphical user interface (GUI), CEBAM allows you to construct a virtural representation of your facility using primitive objects or 3-D CAD import and efficiently calculates the resulting blast loads.  During model construction, the user can define failure criteria for structural components and graphical output will show whether failure occurred.

CEBAM uses an exact representation of your facility that captures blast focusing, shielding, reflection, and channeling.  These effects, which can have a tremendous influence on damage are not included in simplified analysis tools.  CEBAM provides a wide variety of detailed output that allows the user to quickly determine potential consequences.  Graphical output is also provided that aids in the presentation of results to decision makers and customers.

CEBAM has been validated against various sets of test data from various explosion scenarios.  Additional technical and licensing information regarding CEBAM is available on request.
